Saint Margaret School in Pearl River, NY was founded in 1953 and is the Parochial Elementary School of Saint Margaret Parish. We provide a Catholic education for children in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade Eight who reside in Pearl River and surrounding school districts.

 

Saint Margaret School is part of the elementary school system of the Archdiocese of New York. We implement all policy promulgated by the Office of the Superintendent of Schools of the Archdiocese of New York, and we are ultimately responsible to the Archbishop of New York.

 

Saint Margaret School is a Middle States accredited school as of 1995, and is located within the Archdiocese of New York.  It is owned and operated by Saint Margaret Parish, Pearl River, New York.  It is a successful collaboration of pastor, parish, faculty, and Home School Association.  The Home School Association is comprised of volunteer school parents who serve as liaison between the administration and the community. 

 

Saint Margaret's School is more than an educational institution. We are a faith community of faculty, parents, and students working, learning, and worshipping together in the Gospel spirit of freedom and love.

 

The first and foremost religious educators of young people are their parents, who by the Christian witness of their lives form the deepest and most lasting impression on them. The effectiveness of school instruction is vitally affected by the quality of the faith in the home and by the parents' willingness to deepen their own religious experiences.

 

This continued cooperative interaction between teachers and parents will enable Saint Margaret's School to foster the development of men and women who are creative and inventive; whose minds can think, whose hearts can love, and whose whole being radiates positive Christian attitudes.
